WA Design

WA DESIGN is a multidisciplinary design studio inspired by the Japanese principle of wa — the harmony that arises when balance, beauty, and purpose coexist.

Led by our Director Eijiro Fukuda, the studio brings together architecture, interior, product, and brand design under a single philosophy: that true design unites form and feeling. Every project — from commercial spaces and hospitality venues to bespoke furniture and visual identities — begins with understanding human connection and cultural context.

Our work celebrates simplicity, natural materials, and considered craftsmanship. We believe great design is not decoration, but dialogue — between people and space, tradition and innovation, stillness and movement.

At WA DESIGN, harmony is not an aesthetic; it is a way of creating.

SUSHI WA

SUSHI WA is the latest venture to join the WA GROUP stable of businesses. Over 5 years in the making, SUSHI WA brings a truely unique spin on the humble hand roll. From being the worlds first brand to offer its entire range using its secretly held purple rice blend to its ‘customer-serve’ method (you’ll know what we mean when you come to purchase our hand rolls!), SUSHI WA aims to show that fast, cost effective food can be made and served in a way not seen before in the industry.

No 18 Ramen

Since opening its doors in 2017, No 18 Ramen has established itself as a benchmark for Japanese cuisine in the Bayside suburb of St Kilda.

With a drive on curating ‘traditional Japanese family favourites’ , No 18 Ramen has never wavered from its focus of providing our customers with an unpretentious, casual dining experience.

Casual eatery, done with a friendly smile - that is the No 18 way.
